The International Cultural Cabaret

Each year, the Gillian Whylie Scholarship Fund (GWSF) intends to produce an International Cultural Cabaret that offers entertainment in dance, comedy and music, as a means of securing funds on an ongoing basis to provide scholarships to promising students.

The first Cabaret is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the ballroom of the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica.  It will include artistes from the Caribbean region including Jamaica.  It is planned as a wonderful evening for patrons to come and enjoy a classical evening of international culture alongside local artistes.  Hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and a silent auction will precede the show.

The expectation is that the Cabaret will expand year after year to include artistes from across the world.  It will become a unique fixture annually on Jamaica’s entertainment calendar.

Currently, it is anticipated that performers will be coming from Cuba (salsa band), Haiti (cultural dancers), Trinidad and Tobago (comedy) along with top performers from Jamaica in dance and music.  Do not miss it!  Mark the date in your calendar now.

It is intended that tickets for the Cabaret will be made available for purchase as Christmas presents in December and will be offered for sale on this website.  It is recommended that you check this website regularly in December as tickets will be limited and will be sold quickly.  Effort is being made to make tickets reasonably priced and so available to all.  Further details on the upcoming International Cultural Cabaret will be posted on this website and in the media closer to the event.

Corporations wishing to be co-sponsors of the event can contact the GWSF through this website.  We welcome your participation in this fund raising effort to support the education of promising yet financially challenged students in Jamaica, pursuing studies in languages.
